WHAT SHAPE AND TEMPERATURE RATING

  • SIZE AND SHAPE

Sleeping bags come in a number of shapes and sizes, choosing a shape and size is a matter of personal preference keeping in mind that if there is less air inside the bag it will be more efficient and effective in keeping you warm.
Most people don’t like to be restricted when they sleep but the more fitted a bag is the warmer you will be for the amount of insulation the bag has, but it also needs to fit and be comfortable, too tight and you’ll get cold spots as your knees or elbows compress the insulation.
The size and shape will also impact on the packed size of the bag so if you are bushwalking or traveling where size and weight are important factors then choosing a tapered rectangular style is the way to go.

  • TEMPERATURE RATING, ISO23537:2016

Most BlackWolf sleeping bags have been tested to the international standard ISO23537:2016, this scientific testing method generates temperatures, Comfort Temperature, Limit Temperature and Extreme Temperature.
Choose a sleeping bag that will keep you warm in the coldest conditions you plan to use it for, it is easy to open up the sleeping bag to let some heat out if you are hot but it is hard (and potentially dangerous) to warm up if you are cold.
